Armenia overtly bribes Vice President of French Senate

19 September 2024 [17:19] - TODAY.AZ
Armenia openly bribes the Vice President of the French Senate Pierre Ouzoulias. Thus, the Ambassador of Armenia to France Hasmik Tolmadjian awarded the Frenchman with the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Armenia.

Without hiding his joy (apparently, he was receiving an award for the first time), Mr. Uzulias promised to work off his fee. Immediately, sweet speeches comparable to the propaganda theses of the world Armenians poured out of the mouth of the newly-made friend of the Armenians. He promised to defend Karabakh and to pantheonize the so-called "hero" Misak Manushyan, who in reality was a member of a radical group. In a word, to do everything to make the donor happy.

Awarding the Vice President of the French Senate such "honors" raises many questions about the independence and objectivity of Western politicians. Receiving such awards calls into question Ouzoulias's ability to maintain a neutral position in international affairs. Instead of representing the interests of his country and European values, the French senator begins to act in the interests of a foreign state, effectively undermining trust in his activities.

The patronage of figures like Uzoulias plays an important role in the information and political war waged by Armenia. The propaganda of historical and political myths serves to distract attention from the real problems in the region. The French senator, being involved in this process, is effectively becoming an instrument of Armenia’s foreign policy.

These kinds of "rewards" can influence international decision-making. When politicians start acting based on personal gain and rewards, their actions become less predictable and independent. Armenia's goal is clear - to distort the international perception of the new realities formed as a result of the Second Karabakh War. And for this purpose, Armenians do not hesitate to resort to open bribery.

Such actions, both on the part of Armenia and on the part of politicians accepting such "gifts", undermine international norms and principles. This is nothing other than open interference in the internal affairs of another state. It is regrettable that France, once one of the leading countries in Europe, has sunk to such a level as bribery of its senators.
