President Aliyev visits Azerbaijan's Ismayilli region

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited Ismayilli region on August 10.

The head of state laid flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the park in the city center.

Head of Ismayilli District Executive Authority Mirdamet Sadigov informed the head of state of extensive landscaping work carried out in the park, and works carried out in the district over the last years.

During the visit President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of “Ismayilli-2” hydroelectric power plant.

The head of state was informed that the facility`s total capacity is 1.6 MW. Main components of the power plant include an intake, three 800 mm pipes each measuring 2,115 metres in length, as well as control, security, management and registration systems, three 1.6 MW hydro turbines, three hydro generators, 10kV and 0.4kV substation and power distribution lines.

President Ilham Aliyev launched the hydroelectric power plant.

The head of the state also attended the opening of an orphanage-kindergarten which was completely reconstructed on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Ismayilli.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the facility.

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the conditions created here.

He was informed that the reconstruction of the 140-seat orphanage-kindergarten started in 2015.

President Aliyev viewed conditions created at the Olympic Sport Complex in Ismayilli after the major overhaul, as part of his visit. The major reconstruction work started here in 2015.

The complex occupies a total area of 7.5 hectares. It has a 936-seat artificial football stadium, tennis courts, three two-storey four-bed cottages, basketball and volleyball courts.

The main 510-seat sport hall of the complex is supplied with state-of-the-art equipment. The hall is designed to host both local and international competitions.

The complex also has a modern swimming pool.

President Aliyev also attended the opening of the newly reconstructed Qaramaryam-Ismayilli highway.

The head of state was informed that the width of the road was extended to 7 metres, the damaged water pipes were renewed and the old ones were restored. The bridge over the Mehmanli River in the second kilometer of the highway was reconstructed. Another bridge was built over Kurdmashi River. Traffic signs and informative boards were installed and 12 bus stations were built along the highway.

President further attended the opening of “ISMA BIKES” bicycle factory.

The head of state was informed that located in the village of Diyalli, 6km from the city center, the facility was built as part of cooperation with the Bulgarian Sofia bicycle factory.

The facility is provided with Bulgarian, Danish, Dutch, Chinese, and Turkish made equipment.

The factory has a yearly production capacity of 20,000-30,000 bicycles. It created 60 jobs.

The head of state was informed that the number of workers is expected to be increased as the facility will enhance its activity in the future.

There is a modern cycle track in the yard of the facility which occupies a total area of 3 hectares.

President Ilham Aliyev launched the factory, and tested a bicycle produced here.

President Ilham Aliyev met with representatives of the general public of Ismayilli district.
