Thorbjorn Jagland remains in his post in Council of Europe

The acting Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland has been re-elected to this post.

The former prime minister of Norway, Jagland has been re-elected the secretary general by gathering 156 votes as a result of the elections held in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Two candidates, the former Justice Minister of Germany, Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger and Jagland ran for this post.
