Ceasefire disturber Armenia going on its daily habit

28 March 2014 [13:47] - TODAY.AZ
The Armenian Armed Forces fired on the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the village of Kohnegyshlag in the Agstafa region from the positions in the village of Paravakar of Armenia's Ijevan region last night.

The Azerbaijani positions in the nameless heights in Alibeyli village of the Tovuz region were fired upon from the positions in the villages of Mosesgeh and Aygepar in Armenia's Berd region, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said on March 28.

The Azerbaijani positions were also fired upon from the positions near the villages of Garakhanbeyli , Ashagi Seyidahmedli in the Fizuli region, Sarijali in the Agdam region, Tapgaragoyunlu in the Goranboy region and the nameless heights in the Dashkesan , Goygol and Khojavend regions.

The shooting was countered by return fire.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 per cent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the U.S. are currently holding peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the
liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
