Italian "La Repubblica" writes on initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation to restore holy Roman catacombs

“Restoration of holy Roman catacombs on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation will be completed in April 2014,” Italian newspaper La Repubblica has said.

The newspaper notes that by April holy Roman catacombs will be open for pilgrims and tourists who visit the Vatican.

La Repubblica hails the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s idea to reconstruct holy Roman catacombs as an important contribution to the Christian world.

The newspaper says Secretary of Pontifical Council for Sacred Archaeology Giovanni Carru thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its president, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva for her assistance in restoring the catacombs.
