Azerbaijan, Spain to open direct air service

Direct air service between Azerbaijan and Spain is planned to open in 2015.

Nazim Samadov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism made the remark during the EIBTM international tourist exhibition in Barcelona, Spain.

Samadov said currently, the negotiations on opening a direct air service between Madrid and Baku are at the final stage.

The route is a big leap forward in facilitating the flow of tourists and boosting business between the two countries.

He admitted that the main obstacle towards attracting more Spanish visitors is the fact that Azerbaijan is unknown in Spain and emphasized the need to increase Baku's commercial activities in this sphere.
