Russia's deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin has hailed official Moscow`s relationship with Azerbaijan as the two countries` high-level delegations met in the Russian capital.
“Russia and Azerbaijan enjoy excellent relations,” Mr. Rogozin said at a bilateral meeting where Azerbaijan`s delegation was headed by first deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov.
He said the conduct of the meeting was agreed when the Azerbaijani and Russian leaders came together in Sochi earlier this month. The Russian deputy Premier proposed holding the next gathering of the Azerbaijani-Russian Intergovernmental Commission in Baku in mid-September. Mr. Rogozin also lauded Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring food security in his country.
Azerbaijani deputy Prime Minister Eyyubov expressed confidence that the meeting would boost the bilateral relations.
Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev said that Azerbaijan was interested in maintaining long-term cooperation with Russia. He praised Azerbaijan’s collaboration with Russia`s federal regions, adding that export of agricultural products from Azerbaijan to Russia doubled in the six months of this year. The Azerbaijani minister also said the country had positive experience in creating state-of-the-art logistic centers, proposing cooperation on this front.
