More than 200 million USD was spent to build just 17 km length road to Baku airport

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of 6-traffic-path concrete road in the direction of Zig circle – Heydar Aliyev International Airport on Friday.
Public Relations department of Group of Companies “Accord” told that, construction work of the road began on November 10 last year on order of the Ministry of Transport and was carried out by “Accord”.

The construction of the road with 17 km length in the direction of Zig circle – Heydar Aliyev International Airport has been completed. Total width of the 6-traffic-path road is 29.5 meters and each path has 3.75 meters width. Alongside with the construction of this road, part of another one – Azadliq Square-Zig circle road was reconstructed to the 8-traffic-path concrete road in 3 km. 171 million AZN (more than 200 mln. USD) has been spent to the construction work.

Lights produced by Philips Company have been installed in the dividing paths. 8640 m supportive wall and 40 km security barriers on two sites have been constructed in the road and greenery has been planted in 200 h filed. 4 passages and 2 bridges have been constructed in the crossroads. Both bridges pass over the railway lines and passages were constructed in the crossroads. Exploration period of these roads, which meet European standards, is more than 30 years.
