New batch of freight cars delivered to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan Railways announced that 72 new freight railroad cars have been delivered to Azerbaijan. 50 of them are freight open wagons and 22 - flat-cars for transportation of large containers. This was reported to Trend in the press service of the CJSC.

An additional 50 new freight cars have been scheduled for delivery in the coming days, as noted by the department.

Deliveries are carried within the framework of deal signed between Javid Gurbanov, the chairman of Azerbaijan Railways and Oleg Sienko, the general director of Russian "Scientific and Production Corporation" Uralvagonzavod in March 2015.

Under the negotiated contract, Uralvagonzavod has to supply various models of freight cars in the amount of 2,900 units to Azerbaijan Railways.

The first batch of cars in the framework of the signed contract was delivered in April 25 2015,Trend reported.

Gurbanov earlier said that Azerbaijan and Russia will continue to enhance cooperation in the sphere of railway transport
