The Georgian Foreign Ministry announced about the upcoming visit of Azerbaijan’s top diplomat to Georgia.
David Kereselidze, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will arrive in Georgia for a two-day official visit on February 19.
"The visit is of high importance given the strategic and friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan," Kereselidze said.
He added that the visit is also important in terms of the deepening cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas, including the energy and transport.
During his visit, Mammadyarov is expected to meet with his Georgian colleague Tamar Beruchashvili, President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Parliamentary Speaker David Usupashvili.
The sides will hold talks over a wide range of topics, including cooperation in the areas of politics, trade and economy, energy and culture.
