During the protest actions of the opposition in Ukraine an Azerbaijani has suffered.
Ukrainian citizen Anar Rzayev, born in 1990, was injured during the riots on Maidan Square in Kiev, the Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine told Trend
The diplomatic mission received information about Rzayev's being missing during the riots in the city center, and later he was found with minor injuries caused by beating with truncheons, the embassy said.
Rzayev was provided with medical aid and currently his condition is satisfactory, according to the diplomatic mission.
The embassy urges citizens of Azerbaijan who are in or planning to visit Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, to refrain from visiting the areas of active protests and crowded places in this city, and also encourages them to be careful.
The embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine is currently operating in a normal mode, and there are no threats to the security of embassy staff, the embassy said.
The diplomatic mission also denied the information of several media outlets that Azerbaijanis are leaving Kiev.
The clashes are mainly occurring in Maidan and the situation is stable in other parts of the city, the people live a normal life, the embassy said.
In connection with the situation in Ukraine, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry pays strict attention to the issue of security of its citizens living or staying temporarily in this country, and is in constant contact with the embassy in Kiev, Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev earlier told Trend.
Riots in Kiev resumed on February 18, the day of the Ukrainian parliament's meeting, during which the opposition demanded the restoration of the Constitution of 2004.
Radicals broke into the building in the center of Kiev, burned tires, threw stones at cars and police officers. The opposition used firearms for the first time, according to the police.
Some 77 people were killed and 577 were injured as a result of the riots, according to the latest data.
The mass protests in Ukraine began on November 21, 2013, when the government announced the suspension of the preparation of the Association Agreement with the EU.
