Russian community an integral part of Azerbaijan’s life - envoy

The Russian community in Azerbaijan is an integral part of this country's life, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin said speaking at the event titled 'Russian community - 20 years in the family of nations of new Azerbaijan' in Baku on Dec.26.

"Today the community carries out important social and humanitarian functions for the ethnic Russian citizens of Azerbaijan," the diplomat said.

Baku is hosting an event today dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Russian community in Azerbaijan. The head of the Public and Political Issues Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov, Russian Ambassador to Baku, Vladimir Dorokhin, representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church in Azerbaijan, Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan and the government in Moscow are participating at the event.
