Azerbaijan plans to prohibit masks during rallies

Annexes are expected to be made to the law "On freedom of assembly” and relevantly the Code of Administrative Offences in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani Parliament told that the draft law that is expected to be put up for discussion at the request of a group of parliamentarians will ban wearing masks or veils during rallies.

According to the draft law, it is banned to use masks or veils along with a number prohibited special tools during holiday events and mourning, religious ceremonies, meetings, rallies, demonstrations, street processions, pickets.

It has also been proposed to annex a special article to the Code of Administrative Offences in this regard. The draft law is expected to be put up for discussion at the spring session of the Parliament.
