
The 67th IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting was held in Tokyo. The event, attended by 20,000 people from 188 countries, focused on global economic development, debt crisis in euro zone, reduction of unemployment and poverty. Azerbaijan was represented at the event by delegation led by Deputy Finance Minister Azer Bayramov.
Delivering speech at the event, Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito thanked the international community for the support in elimination of results caused by quake and tsunami. He expressed sureness that IMF and WB would continue efforts in struggle against global economic development, maintenance of international financial stability.
IMF managing director Christine Lagarde, WB’s new president Jim Yong Kim and others spoke about the changes in global economy, future goals. Within the framework of the annual meeting, Azerbaijani delegation held several meetings with IMF and WB’s officials, discussed the current state of bilateral relations and future directions.
