Azerbaijan sees rise in volume of construction work

As of early December 2012, the volume of construction work in Azerbaijan increased by 28.6 percent compared to the same period of last year, the report of Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said today.

In particular, the volume of construction work carried out by state-owned companies hit 24.8 percent of the total amount of work, private companies - 75.2 percent.

Around 73 percent of the total volume of construction operations fell to the primary construction, reconstruction and expansion, 13.8 percent - capital repair, 2.3 percent - current repair, 10.9 percent - other construction work.

Around 92.400 were involved in the Azerbaijani construction sector in Jan.-Oct., nominal wages in the construction sector amounted to 569.5 manat, or 10.5 percent more than in the same period of last year. The salary in the state-owned companies amounted to 468 manat (with growth of 18.3 percent for the year), private companies - 632.3 manat (with growth of 4.8 percent).

Wage level in the field of building construction increased by 3.1 percent to 543.8 manat, specialized construction - by 12.4 percent - up to 700.8 manat, in the field of civil construction work - 33.9 percent - up to 461 manat.
