Larijani: Iranian Majlis has positive attitude to develop friendly ties with Azerbaijan

Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Saturday that Majlis has a positive attitude towards developing brotherly ties with Azerbaijan Republic in all fields, IRNA reported.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov.

Larijani referred to the longstanding ties between the two nations and said that diplomatic shuttle and regular consultations between the two countries’ officials indicated deep-rooted friendship between the two nations.

Larijani also underlined the significance of developing economic ties with Azerbaijan.

Akhundov said for his part that the Azeri speaker’s imminent visit to Tehran will be a significant step forward to strengthening ties between the two states.

The ambassador described Tehran-Baku ties as brotherly and very close.
