Swedish Parliament informed about the murder of Azerbaijani child by Armenians

12 March 2011 [13:50] - TODAY.AZ
The murder of an Azerbaijani child this week after Armenian armed forces opened fire on the conflict line shows that the Armenians continue to pursue a genocide policy against the Azerbaijani people in even more ruthless methods.

This was stated at a rally of the Azerbaijani diaspora organizations in Sweden held in connection with the anniversary of the recognition of a so called "Armenian genocide" by Sweden on March 11 in 2010.

A 9-year-old resident of the Orta Garvand village in the Agdam region was killed on March 8 as a result of a ceasefire violation by Armenian troops. Fariz Badalov was shot in the head while playing in his yard. He was taken to hospital, but doctors failed to save his life.

The rally organized in front of the Swedish parliament was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani-Swedish Federation, Congress of Azerbaijanis in Sweden, Azerbaijani students studying in this country and representatives of the Turkic communities.

Participants criticized the Swedish parliament for the recognition of the so-called "Armenian genocide" and stressed that the genocide was committed against the Azerbaijani people, and this crimes continue today, as acts perpetrated by the Armenians remain unpunished.

Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Ulf Holm received a delegation consisting of five protestors. At the meeting, the delegation expressed a protest against the recognition of the so-called "Armenian genocide". Azerbaijani-Swedish Federation Head Sattar Sevigin informed Holm about Badalov’s murder by Armenian sniper.

"Ignoring the requirements of the OSCE Minsk Group, OSCE Special Representative over the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and other influential international organizations and their representatives on the observance of the ceasefire on the front line, Armenia has been violating violates the cease-fire regime every day since its setting. But the worst is that civilians, old men, women and children were the target of the ceasefire violation by Armenian," Sevigin said.

Badalov's murder is a rough violation of human rights and the Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, he added.

Sevigin said the ignorance of these atrocities by the world community and impunity of Armenian crimes create conditions for the continuation of genocide against the Azerbaijani people.
