US embassy opens its first MakerSpace in Baku

The United States embassy in Azerbaijan is happy to announce the opening of its first MakerSpace at the Baku American Center of Azerbaijan University of Languages on December 4, 2015.

The MakerSpace is a scientific lab that provides technology, manufacturing equipment and educational opportunities to the public.

After the launch, it will open its doors to schoolchildren and science, technology, engineering and math students, as well as those interested in innovations.

The MakerSpace staff will hold weekly workshops on the use of 3D printers, 3D scanners, modeling, robotics, Arduino and 3Doodler pens.

The MakerSpace also plans to provide trainings to teachers and mentors on the use of equipment and technology.

All activities and programs of the MakerSpace are free of charge and open for all.
