Belarusian President leaves for Azerbaijan

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will make an official visit to Azerbaijan on November 20-21, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA on Nov.19.

The Belarusian President is scheduled to hold talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Belarus and Azerbaijan are expected to sign a number of bilateral documents on cooperation in various fields.

Azerbaijan is Belarus' important trade and economic partner. From 2006 to 2012 the trade between the two countries increased six times and amounted to $223.3 million last year. In January-September this year, bilateral trade reached $216 million. Belarusian exports rose 1.6 times.

One of the important areas of bilateral interaction is industrial cooperation. Azerbaijan assembles Belarusian tractors, trucks, machinery, optical equipment and lamps, elevators.
