President Ilham Aliyev attended inauguration of new power substation in Baku - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the power plant N 204 after capital repair in the capital’s Nizami District.

As earlier reported, the new substation will enforce Baku's energy supply in this area.

On the eve, JSC Bakielektrikshebeke (sale and distribution of electricity in Baku) has completed the reconstruction of the substation in the Nizami district of Baku.

As stated, the substation located in Nizami district of Baku, was designed for 110/35/6 kilovolts of voltage

The substation in Nizami district of Baku will supply electricity to Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev, the new administrative building of SOCAR, the State Oil Fund, the Olympic Stadium, Gymnasium Center and other new facilities being built at the Heydar Aliyev Avenue.

The Azerbaijani President got acquainted with the conditions in the newly reconstructed station, viewed the stands reflecting Heydar Aliyev’s activity to modernize the electricity industry in the country.

Head of Bakielektrikshebeke JSC Baba Rzayev informed the President about the works carried out in substation.

The Head of State set the substation in operation by computer from Dispatcher Management Centre.

The three-storey power plant, with total area of over 3200 square meters, includes distribution and subsidiary buildings.

It was mentioned that thanks to opening of this substation, network’s power grew by 8 percent. In general, since the launch of Bak?elektrik??b?k? in 2006, power increase of the network reached 90%. All new substations have been equipped with modern devices and management system.

President of Azerbaijan met the staff after general familiarization. He said that similar measures for further development of this sphere would be taken in future, as well.
