Europe owes Renaissance to Islam, says Azerbaijani official

Europe owes Renaissance to Islam, Novruz Mammadov, deputy head of Azerbaijani presidential administration, chief of the administration’s foreign relations department, tweeted Sept. 22.

“I do know that most of my followers are highly intellectual, competent and serious individuals,” he said on Twitter. “Regardless of age, these people take interest in processes developing around the world, their history and approaches towards that.”

“This is why I share thoughts on some aspects I regard as extremely important,” he further noted.

“After studying the time of origination of Islam and its achievements attained in several hundred years, I came to conclusion that Europe owes Renaissance to Islam,” said Mammadov.

“Regrettably, they choose to remain silent about this truth in Europe,” he noted in another tweet.
