Azerbaijan and the UN will establish a working group to prepare the document "Framework for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN in 2016-2020", to be signed in December this year, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Antonius Broek said at a conference in Baku, devoted to discussion of the preparation of the document on June 12.
"The main objective as part of the preparation is to render joint services to determine potential priorities for future cooperation," he said.
"After this stage, it will be necessary to create joint groups to form the effective framework until June-August for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry to hold a workshop in late September. These results will be discussed there. It is necessary to approve and sign another document as part of cooperation until December."
Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev said that Azerbaijan intends to continue cooperating closely with the UN in all possible directions.
"The current level of development and achievements of Azerbaijan make it necessary to cooperate with the relevant UN agencies in the future," the minister said. "Therefore it would be appropriate to call this document as a strategy of cooperation, rather than framework."
