A record number of young people, almost 600,000 are expected to vote in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan this year, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said at a press conference today.
He stressed that young people's voting is very important for the ministry.
"Our primary goal is to educate young people and to attract them to the constituencies," Rahimov said.
The minister added that the video clips encouraging young people to take part in the voting which will soon be shown on television, are being prepared now.
The presidential election will be held in Azerbaijan on October 9. The previous one was held on October 15, 2008.
The presidential election is held every five years in Azerbaijan.
