Moldova sees Azerbaijan as potential investor

Moldova regards Azerbaijan as a potential investor, Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Natalia Gherman said at a briefing in Baku on Sept.8.

Gherman is taking part at the 4th informal dialogue meeting of Eastern Partnership countries energy ministers' session in Baku.

"Moldova is especially interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sphere," she stressed.

Gherman said that Azerbaijani business has already been established in Moldova, however, the country is interested in Azerbaijan's expanded participation.

The deputy prime minister went on to add that Moldova proposes to start the supply of its agricultural products to Azerbaijan, adding that the Azerbaijani consumers will be satisfied with her country's high-quality agricultural products.

She underscored that Moldova and Azerbaijan have high-level bilateral relations in political sphere and that the countries have great potential to develop their relations in the trade and economic relations.

Gherman went on to add that her country is interested in increasing the trade turnover with Azerbaijan.

Once Moldova and the European Union reach a qualitatively new level of cooperation, the country will be ready to offer a new market for the Azerbaijani businessmen, according to Gherman.

Stressing that education is one of the spheres of cooperation between the two countries, the minister added that Moldova universities are ready to admit Azerbaijani students.
