Azerbaijan's Minister of Internal Affairs Ramil Usubov has met today with Iranian counterpart Mostafa Mohammad Najjar.

Usubov said friendly and good neighbor relations between Azerbaijan and Iran were expanding even more thanks to efforts of the two countries' leaders. He praised economic, cultural and education cooperation between the two countries, stressing that President Ilham Aliyev's official visits to Iran had contributed to elevating bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Usubov expressed hope that “such meetings create opportunities for combining our efforts to fight transnational organized crime and international terrorism.” He also expressed confidence that the current visit of his Iranian counterpart would contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Usubov stressed the importance of the agreements signed between the two countries' interior ministries to regulate cooperation. He also briefed the Iranian minister on the political, social and crime situation in the country. The minister noted events are underway in Azerbaijan to fight organized crime, international terrorism, extremism, separatism, illegal arms and drug trade.
He also said there are good opportunities for cooperation between the interior ministries of Azerbaijan and Iran. He expressed assurance that mutual cooperation would continue to serve interests of “our countries and peoples”.
For his part, Mostafa Mohammad Najjar pointed out reciprocal visits, meetings held, as well as agreements signed between the two countries' interior ministries serve interests of both countries, and contribute to boosting bilateral security, military and economic cooperation.
