President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to confer “Shohrat” (Glory) Order upon head of the Religious Community of Mountain Jews Milih Yevdayev.
He received the order in a ceremony organized today by the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations.
Participants in the ceremony included MP Yevda Abramov, First Deputy Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Haji Salman Musayev, Archbishop of Baku and Azerbaijan Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church Alexander Ischein, representatives of other religious confessions in Azerbaijan.
Head of the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations Mubariz Gurbanli hailed Yevdayev`s role in safeguarding multiculturalism and tolerance in Azerbaijan. He stressed that the efforts of the head of the Religious Community of Mountain Jews were highly appreciated by the President of Azerbaijan.
Yevdayev expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for recognizing his activities.
