Azerbaijan Open Dance Cup scheduled for weekend

The Azerbaijan Open Dance Cup will took place at the Rashid Behbutov State Musical Theatre on November 1.

Organized by the Azerbaijani Youth Union and the Azerbaijan Dance Association, the event aims to bring together many dance groups from all over the country.

Participants of all ages will compete for the title in the nominations: hip-hop, house, techno, break dancing, dance shows, folk dance, stylized folk dance, dances of the peoples of the world, oriental, etc.

President of the Azerbaijan Dance Association Aziz Azizov said that the event is aimed to identify talented dancers.

”The main goal of the open cup is identifying talented teams working in different styles and modern social choreography, to represent Azerbaijan at the European and World dance championships,” he said.

Other important objectives of the competition, Azizov said are the exchange of experiences between managers, teachers and dancers working in Azerbaijan and abroad, and promotion of a healthy lifestyle, as well as bringing children, adolescents and young people to modern choreography.

The age groups are: Baby Show (seven years old and under), Children (11 years and under), Junior (12-15 years), Adult 1 (16 years and older), Adult 2 (31 years and older) and Senior (50 year and older)

Last year the Azerbaijan Open Cup on Social and Modern Forms of Dance was held in Baku.
