Lords and baronesses got entangled in controversy over “Armenian question

24 February 2026 [13:13] - TODAY.AZ

From the very beginning of the Karabakh conflict, it became clear that apart from the parties themselves, no one really knows anything about the nature of the confrontation and the crimes committed by the Armenians. He doesn't even want to know. This is especially true of the West, which has almost unanimously supported Armenia in its criminal activities for thirty years, having no idea what is really happening in the South Caucasus.

The Armenians bought the lobbyists and gave them what they were supposed to say. At the same time, all necessary measures were taken to ensure that the voices of the country affected by military aggression, occupation, ethnic cleansing and genocide were not heard by anyone. The ear canals were plugged with large handouts, the promotion of lobbyists on the career ladder and other pleasures. In the old days, the Armenians managed to take over Western parliaments and political circles. They didn't give a damn what was really going on, as long as the Armenian royalties didn't stop. This is how the 907th Amendment was adopted, which can be considered a symbol of thoughtless lobbying of Armenian interests. This decision defied all logic and common sense, but it was made because it was well paid.

The fact that the same situation continues to persist in some places to this day, frankly, is surprising. Modern information technologies allow you to keep up to date with everything, if you have such a desire. Apparently, Armenian lobbyists have not had such a desire in thirty years. This is evidenced by the "investigation", which was started by British parliamentarians with the participation of Armenian separatists in the person of the poor Artak Beglaryan with the money of the diaspora.

As is customary on the Armenian side, the gathering is presented as a "British parliamentary investigation," although everything takes place within the narrow framework of a lobbying crowd. On Monday, the first meeting was held under the sonorous title "Erasing the Past: the destruction of cultural heritage." Armenian media reports that the participants of the "investigation" are looking for a way to justice and bring Azerbaijan to justice. The "investigation" is being conducted by the Institute for Human Rights of the International Bar Association (IBAHRI) in collaboration with the interpartisan Parliamentary Group on International Law, Justice and Accountability (APPG) and the interpartisan Parliamentary Group on Armenia (APPG on Armenia). The party is led by Scottish MP Brendan O'Hara. The line-up is not worth listing - it's all lords and baronesses. Things don't seem to be going well in the UK if the lords and baronesses don't shy away from selling themselves to the first person they meet. Although the primary role here is most likely played not even by the handouts of the diaspora, but by Islamophobia and Turkophobia, which have always been projected onto the Karabakh conflict and the attitude towards Azerbaijan.

So, the lords and baronesses gathered and discussed how they would conduct the investigation. They decided to accept the appeal, hold public hearings with experts and witnesses (witnesses of what?!), compile reports and put pressure on the UK government and international institutions.

As the wisdom attributed to the Prosecutor General of the USSR Rudenko says: "The main thing is not to come out on yourself during investigative actions."

The British MPs who undertook to support Armenian separatism have already come out on their own. Just look at the official website of the party. You don't even know whether to laugh or get angry. The "investigators" proved once again that the lobby always went along with its customers and swallowed everything that was given to it. Money doesn't smell, and what to say or put on the site is up to the person who pays. Even if the MPs and deputies of the parliament of such a serious and respectable power as Great Britain look like complete, sorry, idiots. It's their faces that adorn the site, not those who plant information and pay for services.

The main page photo immediately attracts attention. You look and think: did I get there? In the photos presented as evidence of the "destruction of the Armenian heritage of Artsakh," we see footage of the destroyed Aghdam and the mosques of Shusha. The Armenian customers could not find epic photos that would make them cry with pity and burn with anger, and they provided footage of the real crimes of the Armenians themselves during the occupation years. Or the compilers of the site simply thoughtlessly collected photos from Google, not paying attention to the fact that they reflect Armenian deeds.

In the photo series, we see the Saatli mosque in Shusha destroyed by the invaders, we see a panorama of the destroyed Aghdam, we see the Ashagi Govharaga mosque in Shusha, filmed during the Armenian occupation, in which the Armenians kept cattle. Finding images of the destruction allegedly caused by the Azerbaijanis is a big problem, because there is no such destruction. All that could be displayed were the demolished new buildings - Armenian churches built during the occupation in the occupied Azerbaijani towns and villages. They were built without the permission of the legitimate authorities, and their fate is not the subject of discussion. These buildings cannot be considered as any historical heritage. We are not talking about the fact that the historical and spiritual Armenian heritage on the territory of Azerbaijan objectively simply cannot exist. And this, of course, makes the task very difficult. Therefore, on the website of the "investigation" we see a blatant deception of the audience.

It's unlikely that this "investigation" has a wide audience, but it's embarrassing...
