Domestic investments comprise half of capital investments in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan invested around 13.09 billion manats from all financial sources in the development of economic and social fields of the country in the first 10 months of 2015.

This figure is 1.9 percent more compared to the same period of 2014, Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee’s report for January-October 2015 has said.

The investments in construction and installation work hit 74.6 percent of a total volume of investments.

Around 8.08 billion manats was invested in the construction of production facilities, while 4.15 billion manats - in non-production facilities, 860.1 million manats – housing construction.

Around 57.2 percent of the total volume of investments accounted for domestic investments.

Around 8.94 billion manats of the enterprises’ and organizations’ funds, 2.45 billion manats - budgetary funds, 862.6 million manats - bank loans, 229.5 million manats - off-budget funds, 431.1 million manats - personal funds of the population and 167.5 million manats - other funds were invested in the fixed assets.

Around 54.8 percent or 7.17 billion manats invested in fixed assets was directed to the development of the non-oil sector, while 45.2 percent or around 5.91 billion manats was invested in the oil sector.

The committee also reported that the total volume of foreign investments made in Azerbaijan’s fixed capital in January-October 2015 hit 5.6 billion manats, and this is 41.03 percent more compared to the same period of 2014.

Some 4.65 billion manats or 82.9 percent of investments made in Azerbaijan’s economy by other countries and international organizations in January-October 2015 accounted for the investors from the UK, Turkey, Norway, Russia, Iran, Malaysia, the U.S. and Japan.

The major part of foreign investments in fixed capital of Azerbaijan was made in July (656.7 million manats), while the least - in February (387.7 million manats).
