Thales Group to expand activities in Azerbaijan

The French Thales Group intends to expand its activities in Azerbaijan, the company's CEO Jean Bernan Levy said at a meeting with Azerbaijan's Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev.

Thales Group is a multinational company that designs and builds electrical systems and provides services to its customers in the aerospace, defense, transportation and security markets.

At the meeting, Mustafayev said that the involvement of modern technologies in Azerbaijan's economy is of great importance for the country.

He added that the country has created a favorable environment for business and investment, and invited the French businessmen to actively cooperate with their Azerbaijani counterparts.

Levy expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan and informed Azerbaijani officials about the activities of his company. He said that Thales Group operates in 50 countries around the world, including Azerbaijan.

A number of projects have already been successfully implemented by the company, he said.

He added the company is interested in expanding operations in Azerbaijan.

It was also noted that the economic ties between the two countries are successfully developing with prospects for expanding cooperation being discussed seriously.

The French company is now participating in the construction project of the Baku subway lines, creating a signaling system, and providing it with other necessary equipment.

Business relations between Azerbaijan and France are on the rise with about 40 French companies operating in Azerbaijan.
