Number of Azerbaijani gas operator’s subscribers exceeds 1.67 million

As of March 1, 2014, the number of subscribers of the Azerbaijani gas operator stood at 1,676,885, a message from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said on March 13.

Azerigaz Production Association (PA), part of SOCAR, is engaged in the issues of distribution and sale of gas in Azerbaijan.

Some 1,656,397 of the total number of subscribers are residential and 20,488 subscribers are from other categories, according to SOCAR's message.

In February 2014, some 13,698 customers started receiving gas, of which 4902 were located in Baku, Sumgait and Absheron and the remaining 8796 were in other regions of the country.

Around 711,487 of the total number of gas subscribers are located in Baku and 965,398 customers are located in other regions of the country.
