Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim stated on October 12 that terrorists and their supporters would be “ousted from this land”.
Yildirim spoke in Ankara at a ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party meeting for provincial leaders, Anadolu Agency reported.
"I will question anyone's mind who has any doubt about this," Yildirim said and added: "Citizens in eastern and southeastern provinces stand against terrorism with hatred every day."
Yildirim said the defeated July 15 coup attempt had affected not only Istanbul or Ankara but reached into "every corner" of Turkey, prompting people to take to the streets.
"This stance of unity and solidarity disturbed traitors who feed on chaos and disorder," said Yildirim. "The people of Turkey, the Turkish nation, are bigger than all of those groups."
The PM also said that constitutional change in Turkey is a "must". Yildirim told AK Party delegates the need for a new constitution in Turkey had become "urgent".
An armed attack was organized in the province of Diyarbakir by the PKK members on October 11, which killed the head of the department of the Justice and Development Party in the town of Dijla.
The PKK has waged war on Turkey since 1984, resulting in more than 40,000 deaths. It is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU. Following a “solution process” initiated in 2013, the PKK resumed its armed campaign last July.
During the past 14 months, PKK terrorist attacks have martyred more than 600 security personnel and also claimed the lives of numerous civilians, including women and children, while more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed in army operations.
