'No second-rate nations and people in Georgia'

There are no second-rate nations and people in Georgia, the country's President Mikheil Saakashvili said on Thursday addressing residents of Marneuili (Kvemo Kartli region, East Georgia) inhabited primarily by the Azerbaijanis.

"There are no second-rate nations, second-rate people, second-rate cities, villages, etc. in Georgia. We do our best to ensure that our country's regions and cities were equal and develop comprehensively," Mr Saakashvili said while addressing thousands of Marneuli residents who came to meet the president.

President Saakashvili said in the past Marneuli was like another planet for Tbilisi residents but nowadays Marneuli "becomes one the most beautiful cities of Georgia".

This is heritage of the Rose Revolution, which made all people in our country equal and now all people may get the same school and hospital, where only millionaires and billionaires could get education and be treated a in the past," he said.

President Saakashvili opened a newly built hospital for 25 persons in Marneuli. About 100 local specialists work at this hospital. This hospital built by the Irao insurance company is equipped with modern equipment.

Mr Saakashvili also opened a new police building where also 100 local policemen work. Also a supermarket of Smart network was opened. The president also inspected construction of a new water supply system. After commissioning it the city will have 24-four water supply.
