The Armenian national committee of Nevada urges governor Gibbons annul his decision.

According to Day.Az, the Armenian national committee of Nevada thus reacted to the declaration of March 31 the Day of Memory of Azerbaijanis to commemorate tens of thousands of Azerbaijani civilians in the result of massacres, committed by Armenians in March of 1918.
"The US-Armenian community of Nevada is concerned over the fact that governor Gibbons was so easily misled and manipulated", said representative of the Armenian National Committee of Nevada Razmik Ablo. He considers that all traces led to the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
According to the Armenian national committee of America, in the letter addressed to governor of the Armenian national committee of Nevada voiced resentment and disappointment of the community due to formulation of the proclamation that speaks of the belonging of the Karabakh region to Azerbaijan.
The letter also binds the declaration of March 31 as Day of Memory of Azerbaijanis to the events of the first world war that the concerned circles are presenting as "Armenian genocide": this event can be used as a condition for rejecting Armenian genocide and that on the contrary Armenians committed genocide against Azerbaijanis at that time.
Armenians state that "historical chronicles of that time prove that there was a civil war underway in the region. Under the documents in the library of the US Congress and publications of that time, for example in New York Times, pro-Russian communist forces took part in separate acts of violence. Those acts were not systematic".
Nevada Armenians consider the proclamation to be politically motivated.
