
According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, intense rains lasted from April 16 evening to April 17 morning triggered an increase of water level and short term overflow in the rivers of Kishchay, Shinchay, Ayrichay and Bashdashagilchay flowing from the territory of Balak?n-Shaki zone, and consequently, water level rose 23 cm in Ganikh river on April 18. Likewise, water level has gone up 64 cm, 7 cm and 25 cm respectively in the rivers of Gusarchay, Gudiyalchay, and Valvalachay flowing from the territory of Guba-Khachmaz zone.
Currently, water richness holds 200-240% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 130-200% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 85-105% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 25-30% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.
Water consumption holds 770 m3/sec, i.e. 104% of decade norm (in 2011, 57%, being 426 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 224 m3/sec, i.e. 168% of decade norm (in 2011, 164%, being 276 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.
At present, water level holds 586 cm (On April 18, 2011, 541 cm) in Surra settlement, 502 cm (On April 18, 2011, 436 cm) in Shirvan region, 426 cm (On April 18, 2011, 358 cm) in Salyan region, 321 cm (On April 18, 2011, 277 cm) in Banka settlement, while 300 cm (On April 18, 2011, 235 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
