To revive the "dead man" - who and how in Armenia is holding on to the separatist project

30 June 2026 [14:14] - TODAY.AZ

The Indonesian island of Sulawesi is home to the Toraja people, who have always maintained an animistic tradition associated with the death of loved ones. The Torajas do not bury their dead, but mummify them and keep them at home, taking care of them as if they were alive. The dead can continue to "live" this way for years, they are given gifts, bathed, changed clothes, and neighbors inquire about their health. Households, young and old, pretend that they are dealing with living people, and not with the long-dead and irrevocably deceased.

What are we talking about? Moreover, the tradition of keeping a dead person at home and pretending that he is alive also exists in our neighboring country. Armenia has been refusing to bury the Karabakh project for three years now. Dances are arranged around the decomposing corpse, they try to dress it up beautifully and show it to the public. Political necromancy is supported by opposition circles. They understand that they will not be able to revive the deceased, but they do not want to bury him, hoping to use the dried-up mummy for their own purposes for as long as possible.

The demise of the Karabakh project has already been announced at the official level in Armenia. Contrary to this, they are trying to keep the separatist fetish on trend by flaunting it. A week ago, the police put an end to provocations in the center of Yerevan by detaining young Dashnak fetishists who tried to install a separatist "flag" in France Square, contrary to the demands of the authorities. The rag was repeatedly removed from the face of the capital, but stubbornly returned. Therefore, legal measures were taken, because the younger Nazis did not understand in a good way. Now the separatist rag has been put up in Vanadzor and proudly reported on social networks. The elders again gave the fetish into the hands of the youth, who, thinking that they were doing something useful for their country, hung it on one of the pillars. Most likely, the rag is no longer there at the moment, because the Armenian authorities have seriously taken up the task of putting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements into practice.

It should be recalled that at a briefing in parliament last week, answering journalists' questions about events on the topic of Western Azerbaijan, he stated that this was a mirror response to the processes in Armenia. Any attempt to continue the Karabakh movement will be suppressed, Pashinyan said, adding that he would not allow attempts to involve the people in a new adventure and would act within the limits of authority and the law.

Within the framework of the law, the Armenian authorities are trying to board up the coffin of the Karabakh project and stop the satanic dances around it. Separatist flags are being removed, and graffiti of the appropriate content is being removed from the walls. Thus, revanchist channels are indignantly distributing footage that shows that the images of the occupiers eliminated during the war have been deleted. And that's right - there's nothing to dirty the capital. Eventually, society will begin to get used to the order.

The revanchists are very worried about all this. The Dashnaks are particularly concerned. It is the youth wing of Dashnaktsutyun that is engaged in guerrilla warfare, trying to exhibit separatist rags in different cities of the country. The elders give the young people separatist attributes in their hands and send them to the right addresses. And the young Nazis themselves don't have the brains to be critical of the situation. I must say that a narrow worldview is exactly what is needed for successful brainwashing of young people. Revanchists cannot allow the younger generation to correctly perceive what the ruling team says.

So the embalmed corpse of the "Artsakh issue" will not be buried for a long time. The appearance of his vitality is being strenuously maintained while searching for an external patron who knows effective spells to revive the dead.

According to Armenian media, separatist Ashot Danielyan, who recently replaced Samvel Shahramanyan, who has receded into the background, has launched active "state" activities in Armenia. The other day, he announced the creation of a "multilateral commission to study the targeted use of budgetary funds." It turns out that the separatists have "legislative and executive authorities," some kind of "public council," and a "state budget." And all this, as follows from the words of the separatist, not only exists, but also operates. There has been no "NKR" for three years, but there is a "parliament" and a "government". It seems that even the residents of Indonesian Sulawesi could envy the ingenuity of the Armenian separatists. Their ancient traditions are much older than the Armenian ones.

The "commission" was created in order to find excuses in connection with accusations of embezzlement of funds accumulated in the "state budget" of the liquidated self-proclaimed entity at the time of its abolition. No matter how many pieces of paper Shahramanyan signed later, his "decree" on the self-dissolution of the "NKR" still remains fundamental. Nevertheless, the project had a certain piggy bank, where Yerevan and the Diaspora dumped money. At the time of the liquidation of the separatist regime, it had more than 3 billion drams, which is more than 8 million dollars. And the figures who escaped from Azerbaijani justice are accused of embezzling these funds. The questions "where is our money?" not only Karabakh tribesmen began to ask questions, but also official Yerevan. Because almost three quarters of the separatist piggy bank was filled by the Armenian state budget, and Armenia was quite reasonably interested in its fate.

All this is the concern of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and not of some unauthorized "commission" created only to prove the viability of a failed project.

Danielyan and Co. hope that by starting some kind of commissions, imitating violent activity, and actively playing the "government in exile", they will be able to prolong the appearance of the life of the deceased dream of Azerbaijani lands. Revanchists who hang tetris rags and paint walls in Yerevan expect the same effect. The opposition circles and their money are working on this task. Maintaining a corpse in "working condition" is the number one task.

Why be surprised? After all, if the project "Lenin lived, Lenin is alive, Lenin will live" has been supported for more than a hundred years, the Armenian separatists have someone to look up to.
