Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia party, has
again found himself at the center of attention after being asked about his
multiple citizenships. Responding to questions about his Russian and Cypriot
passports, he said: "When I become Prime Minister, I will only be a
citizen of Armenia. Be content with that."
The statement suggests that the issue of renouncing other
citizenships, if necessary, will be addressed only after he assumes office.
However, that scenario remains hypothetical. Before any political ambitions can
be realized, Karapetyan must first resolve his current legal situation. He
remains in custody, and the outcome of the court proceedings will determine
what comes next.
For now, discussions about a future premiership remain
secondary to the judicial process that lies ahead.
