A lawsuit was filed against two members of the outlawed Democratic Society Party (DTP) for allegedly making propaganda of the PKK in their speeches.

The Chief Prosecutor's Office in Ankara prepared an indictment against Ahmet Turk and Aysel Tugluk "for propagandizing for the terrorist organization" while return of eight Turkish troops from Iraq where they were kidnapped after a PKK attack in Daglica village of the southeastern province of Hakkari on October 21, 2007.

The prosecutor demanded imprisonment terms ranging from 1 year to 5 years.

Trial of Turk and Tugluk will begin at the High Criminal Court in Ankara in the coming days.

The Constitutional Court outlawed the DTP on December 11, 2009, after ruling that the party became a focal point of activities against state's unity with its actions and ties to the PKK. The court also barred Turk and Tugluk, former co-chairpersons, and 35 other party members from joining any political party for five years.
