The Investigation Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry detained Former Minister of Energy and Finance Alexander Khetaguri, former Minister of Education and former deputy prosecutor general Nika Gvaramia, former Deputy Minister of Economy Kakha Damenia and "Telasi" company director general Devi Kandelaki.

Earlier, they were summoned for questioning as witnesses.

They are accused of having created the "Elenem Service" company. Inter RAO UES was exempt of paying $1 million due to this company.

The Finance Ministry blamed Gvaramia and Khetaguri in preparing a scheme. They issued a false document on allegedly conducted work and services. The money from "Telasi" company, Khram 1 and Khram 2 owned by Russian Inter RAO UES was transferred to "Elenem Service".

Later Gvaramia and Damenia tried to keep back receiving $1 million through a false company "Solution Chantladze, Butidze" and allegedly formalized the conducted work.

The investigation is being conducted upon Articles 338, 339, 2010, 139 of the Georgian Criminal Code.

Other details were not disclosed.
