
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow reported that information about the presence of Azerbaijanis among the victims of the riots at the Manege Square in Moscow has not yet been confirmed.
The embassy staff together with the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry's representative, who is on visit to Moscow, is in constant contact with local authorities, the diplomatic mission told Trend.
Earlier, Interfax reported with a reference to the source in the law enforcement agencies that 27-year old Azerbaijani allegedly received stab wounds of the arms and chest in the riots.
Unsanctioned demonstration at the Manege Square in Moscow escalated into clashes of protesters with the police. The reason for the rally was the death of one of the Spartak fans in a scuffle with the natives of Northern Caucasus. Football fans and activists of the nationalist groups took part in the demonstrations. They have beaten several persons of non-Slavic appearance. According to preliminary data, 10 people were injured and 65 fans were arrested, Russian media reported.
The situation in the city has been stabilized and the local authorities keep the situation under control, the embassy said.
