"Iran’s hostile attitude toward the summit of Turkic-speaking countries is the result of hatred and turkophobia policy this country pursues against Azerbaijan," Head of Baku-based Center for Political Innovations and Technologies Mubariz Ahmadoglu said.
On September 15, the subtitle of a program aired on Iran’s Azerbaijani language "Seher" TV channel read that Azerbaijani President paid a visit to Ankara "to participate in the hateful summit of Turkic-speaking countries."
Ahmadoglu says Iranian TV channel’s highlighting this news along with news about Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan’s ‘successful” visit to Iran is not coincidence.
“At a time when mediators, representatives of the Christian states change their position and recognize territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, Iran gradually brings its official stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict closer with that of Armenia,” the political analyst added.
Iran, being neighbor with Turkey, Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries, has every opportunity to put Armenia against Azerbaijan, the analyst believes.
"Iran has played a significant role in prosperity of Israel, which waged war against the Arabs. Now Iran strengthens Armenia against Azerbaijan and Turkey. The political level of the current leadership of Iran has allowed the vice-president of this country to visit Turkey. This took place despite the vice president made a statement recognizing the "Armenian genocide" and Iran officially waged "Armenian genocide" propaganda, and most importantly, despite the summit of Turkic-speaking countries was described as "hateful," Ahmadoglu added.
