Mammadyaorv sits down with Palestinian PM

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad as part of his visit to the Middle East.

Salam Fayyad said Palestine attached great importance to relations with Azerbaijan and was interested in developing the bilateral ties.

Stressing the good prospects for further cooperation, Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan was ready to assist Palestinian students in getting education in Azerbaijan. He also noted that Azerbaijan was interested in peaceful settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

They also exchanged views on regional processes, as well as the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Mammadyarov gave an insight to the conflict and stressed that the dispute had to be settled on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
