20th anniversary of Azerbaijani-Swiss diplomatic relations marked

The Azerbaijani embassy to Switzerland Bern has organized a reception marking the 20th anniversary of the founding of diplomatic relations between the two countries.   The event was attended by officials of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, parliamentarians, federal and cantonal entities of Switzerland, diplomatic corps accredited in the country, and Azerbaijani students.

Speaking at the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador Akram Zeynalli highlighted the history of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. He praised the relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland.

Head of the first political administration of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Arthur Mutley stressed Switzerland attached great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan. The Swiss diplomat expressed confidence in further expansion of bilateral relations, which he said were based on mutual interest and respect.

The event also featured a performance of young Azerbaijani musician Emil Muradov, as well as video clip about modern Azerbaijan. The participants also had an opportunity to taste Azerbaijani national dishes.
