Baku hosted the Azerbaijan Dance Championship 2013 on April 21.
The championship was held at the Rashid Behbudov State Song Theater jointly by the Modern and Social Dance Association of Azerbaijan and the Union of Azerbaijani Youth.
The championship was attended by the dance collectives of large studios who showed their performance in various categories such as Baby Show 1 and 2, Modern, Couple Show Dance, Dance Show, Folklore or the Dances of World Nations (Oriental dance), Ethnic Dances and Hip-Hop.
According to the results of the championship, Ulkar Babazade (Baby 1, solo), "Jam SS" Dance Show Club (Baby show 1, duet), "Dances" (Baby show 1, small groups), "Jam SS" Dance Show Club (Baby show 2, solo), Aliya Jalilzade and Teymur Sidorenko (Baby show 2, duet), "Agh chicheyim" (Baby show 2, small groups), "Bir vetenim" (Formation), "Tellerim" (Folklore, small groups, juniors), Laman (Modern, solo, juniors), Alina Kryuchkova (Modern, solo, elders), "Trio" children cultural center (Hip-Hop, small groups, juniors), Rayman-Ramil Mammadli (Hip-Hop, solo) and Movsun Alaskarov and Farid Javadov (Hip-Hop, duet) were the winners of the first place. "Crazy Eyes" Dance Crew, "Alarm" Dance crew and "Jam SS" Dance Show Club were the winning teams.
"I am very pleased with the championship," President of the Modern and Social Dance Association of Azerbaijan Aziz Azizov said.
The number of participants is growing at each new event, and it provides healthy competition, he believes.
"Currently, we are preparing a series of international events to further strengthen the aim of our dancers to work hard to improve their skills," Azizov emphasized.
