Taurus Petroleum Limited purchases Azeri Light oil shipment from Azerbaijan

Oil will be shipped from Supsa port on March 6-7 of 2009.

Notably, the Baku-Supsa pipeline was commissioned on April 17 of 1999. 50 mln tons of oil were transported by the Baku-Supsa pipeline from 1999-2005 and 5.6 mln tons within the first 10 months of 2006.

Since that time the pipeline was closed for repair. In August 2008 the oil pumping resumed. The pipeline extends to 837 kilometers. Initially the pipeline capacity was 117,000 barrels per day and following modernization 145,000 barrels per day or 7 mln tons per year.
