Salt producing plant to be launched in Azerbaijan in Q3 of 2009

It should be reminded that 75% stocks of the Azerbaijani salt producing enterprise with a founding capital of AZN 7.4 mln belongs to Azersun Holding and 25% to the Azerbaijan Investment Company.

"We have decided to raise the capacity of the enterprise up to 200 tons per day from the previously planned 100 tons. But initially the plant will be launched with a capacity of 100 tons and then it will be doubled", said Mamedov. The equipment of Swiss Evoterm has been acquired for the plant.

Mamedov also said that Azerbaijan currently accounts for about 20 enterprises on salt production, most of which use primitive technologies.
