Russia malcontent with quality of cognac alcohol, supplied from Azerbaijan

He noted that cheap cognac makes 80% of cognac production.

"Russian cognac is mainly made of import cognac alcohol. But these alcohols are enough only for production of 60-65% of cognac. What makes the basis of the remaining production remains unclear. There is no raw materials for them in nature", said Drobiz.

He noted that half of the import is supplied from Azerbaijan. He said today Azerbaijan produces extremely low volumes of cognac alcohols and mainly deals with transit supplies "from unknown direction".

"Therefore, the quality of these imported alcohols is mainly terrible", said Drobiz.
