AIOC increased oil export in Q1

The Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) exported 5 507 thousand tons of crude in January-April this year, up by 60.7% on the same period last year.

According to AzerTAg, oil transportation through Baku-Supsa pipeline rose by 0.2% to 2.333 thousand tons. Of this volume, 604.36 thousand tons were hauled in April. Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline has carried 1335.196 thousand tons of oil for the past four months. It is 3.3 times more than that of the same period last year. Oil export northward was 340.86 thousand tons in April. 1839 thousand tons of crude were transported via railway to the Batumi seaport. Of this volume 524.293 thousand tons were hauled in April.

Oil export totaled 13314 thousand tons in 2005 while it was 8937 thousand tons in 2004.
