New Boeing jets to appear in AZAL hangars next year

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) CJSC will receive 'Boeing-787 Dreamliner' aircraft by the spring of 2015, a source in the airline told Trend on Aug. 14.

AZAL had previously ordered two aircraft of this model from Boeing.

Earlier, it was assumed that AZAL will receive its first 'Dreamliner' in June-July 2014, and the second one - in November.

"Under the plan, the aircraft should arrive in the country by the spring of 2015, in turns with a small interval," the source said.

Previously, another source in AZAL said the airline earlier was reviewing the possibility of refusing to acquire 'Boeing-787 Dreamliner' aircraft, due to a number of problems faced by some countries' airlines using these planes.

Currently AZAL's fleet consists of 'Boeing 757-200', 'Boeing 767-300', 'Airbus 319', 'Airbus A320', 'Airbus A340-500', 'Embraer ERJ 170-100LR' and 'Embraer ERJ 190-100'.
