Iran starts gasoil transfer to Iraq

01 June 2012 [15:41] - TODAY.AZ
An agreement for transferring gasoil from Iran to Iraq is being implemented, Iran's Oil minister Rostam Qasemi said, Irib News reported.

Qasemi who is on a 3 day visit to Iraq, is scheduled to meet Iraqi Oil minister Abdel Karim Laibi and discuss oil related issues, as well as questions of mutual interest.

Qasemi also said that it is planned to discuss oil and gas products transportation to Iraq, as well as development on the joint Iran-Iraq oilfields.

Iran produces some 68,000 barrels per day of crude oil in four oilfields associated with Iraq (Naftshahr, Paydar Gharb, Dehloran and Aban).

Qasemi said in August 2011 that the Iranian government should consider plans to develop joint oilfields in the border areas with Iraq.
